White Copal resin

The White Copal resin comes from a variety of different trees/shrubs. The Mayas in Southern Mexico used Copal resin that came from pitch pine trees (genus Pinus.) In Eastern Guatemala the Bursera tree supplies Copal resin through, approximately 100 related shrubs and trees. There are trees and shrubs that yield Copal resin in Southern Mexico along with both Southern and Central America.

White Copal resin is known as young Amber, it is also a relative of both Myrrh and Frankincense.
